After a big keyword research session you might have three hundred keywords in a sheet. Staring at that list is overwhelming. Which ones go together. How many pages do you need. When I first faced this, I wrote one page for almost every keyword and ended up with thin, competing pages. Keyword clustering fixed that habit.

What is keyword clustering

Keyword clustering means grouping keywords that share the same meaning and intent, so one page can target the whole group. For example these all belong together:

  • cheap laptop for students
  • best budget laptop for students
  • student laptop under 80000

Google understands they are about the same thing, so one well written page can rank for all of them.

How our tool clusters keywords

Our Keyword Clustering Tool cleans each keyword, removes filler words, reduces words to their base form and then groups keywords that share most of their important words. Each cluster gets a short name based on its most common words, and clusters are sorted from largest to smallest.

How to use it

  1. Collect your keywords from the Keyword Research Tool or any other source.
  2. Open the Keyword Clustering Tool.
  3. Paste your list, one keyword per line.
  4. Click Cluster Keywords.
  5. Copy the clusters and turn each one into a page plan.

Turning clusters into pages

  • Pick a main keyword for each cluster. Usually the most popular or clearest phrase.
  • Use secondary keywords as subheadings or naturally in the text.
  • Check intent. If one cluster mixes buying and learning phrases, split it.
  • Decide page type. Big informational clusters become guides. Buying clusters become product or category pages.

Avoiding keyword cannibalisation

Cannibalisation happens when two of your pages compete for the same search. Google then struggles to choose and often ranks neither well. Clustering before writing prevents this completely because every cluster has exactly one home.

If you already have competing pages, check which one ranks using the Keyword Position Checker, then merge the weaker page into the stronger one and redirect it.

Build a content calendar

Large clusters are your priority because they bring the most combined traffic. Plan one cluster per article and schedule them weekly. Link related clusters together so your site builds clear topical authority.

Common mistakes

  • Clustering only by one shared word. Laptop bag and laptop price share a word but need different pages.
  • Ignoring tiny clusters. They often become easy long-tail wins.
  • Forgetting to check search intent. Confirm with the Search Intent Analyzer.

A small example

Imagine you paste these keywords: laptop price in Pakistan, laptop prices in Lahore, used laptop price, second hand laptop Lahore, laptop repair near me and laptop screen repair cost. The tool produces three clean clusters. The first is about new laptop prices, the second about used laptops and the third about repairs. That means three pages instead of six. Each page can be longer, more helpful and more likely to rank.

Now look at intent inside each cluster. The repair cluster is local and transactional, so it should be a service page with your shop address, timings and prices. The price cluster is commercial, so a regularly updated price list with filters works best. The used laptop cluster can be a buying guide with checks to do before you pay. Clustering turned a messy list into a clear site plan in minutes.

Frequently asked questions

How many keywords can I cluster at once

You can paste up to one thousand keywords in one go.

Does the tool use search results to cluster

It clusters by meaning in the words themselves, which is fast and works well for most lists. For borderline groups, compare the top results manually.

Should every cluster get its own page

Most should, but very small clusters can be added as sections inside a related page.
