Have you noticed search results with star ratings, prices, FAQs that expand under the link or a business card with opening hours. Many of those come from structured data, also called schema markup. It helps Google understand your content precisely and makes your listing stand out. The best part is that you can add it without writing code.

What is schema markup

Schema markup is code based on the vocabulary from schema.org. It describes things on your page, such as a business, product, article or set of FAQs, in a format machines understand. The recommended format is JSON-LD, a small script block you paste into your page.

Types our generator supports

The Schema Markup Generator creates JSON-LD for:

  • Organization with name, URL, logo and phone
  • Local Business with address and phone
  • Article with headline, image, author and date
  • Product with brand, price, currency and availability
  • FAQ page from simple question and answer lines
  • Person with job title and links
  • Website with a search box action

The code updates live as you type.

How to use it

  1. Open the Schema Markup Generator.
  2. Choose the schema type.
  3. Fill in the fields that apply.
  4. Copy the generated script.
  5. Paste it into the head or body of the right page.

Where to add each type

  • Organization: homepage
  • Local Business: homepage or contact page of a physical business
  • Article: each blog post
  • Product: each product page
  • FAQ: pages that show those questions and answers to visitors
  • Website: homepage

Rules to follow

  • Only mark up what visitors can see. If FAQ answers are not on the page, do not add FAQ schema.
  • Keep data accurate. Prices, ratings and dates must match the page.
  • Do not invent reviews. Fake review markup can lead to manual penalties.

Validate after adding

After publishing, check the code with the Schema Markup Validator. It extracts all JSON-LD from your live page and flags missing recommended properties. Google's Rich Results Test can also show which rich results your page is eligible for.

A real example

A dental clinic in Peshawar added Local Business schema with its address, phone, opening hours and map location. It also added FAQ schema to its services page, covering common questions about treatment cost and appointment times. Within weeks, Google began showing the clinic details more clearly for local searches, and some FAQ answers appeared directly in results. Calls from Google increased without any change in rankings.

Start with the basics

If you are new to structured data, start with three types: Organization or Local Business on the homepage, Article on blog posts and Product on product pages. These cover most websites and are easy to maintain. Once they validate cleanly, consider FAQ or Breadcrumb schema for extra visibility.

Keep schema updated

Structured data must stay accurate. When your phone number, prices or opening hours change, update the schema at the same time as the visible page. Outdated structured data can confuse customers and search engines and may make your site look unreliable.

Schema for online stores in Pakistan

For product pages, set the currency to PKR and keep the price exactly as shown on the page, including sale prices. Mark availability as in stock or out of stock honestly. Accurate product schema helps shoppers see key details before they click, which brings more qualified visitors to your store.
