Every site owner wants to know one thing: where do I stand on Google. Searching on your own phone is not reliable, because results change with your location, history and device. Many clients have told me with confidence that they rank first, only to discover that they rank first on their own laptop and eleventh for everyone else. A neutral ranking check gives you the honest picture.
What our ranking checker shows
The Google Ranking Checker searches live results for your keyword and finds your domain:
- Your position, shown as a clear number
- Whether you are on page one or page two
- The pages ranking above you, so you know who to study
- The exact URL of yours that ranks, which is not always the page you expect
How to use it
- Open the Google Ranking Checker.
- Enter your domain, such as yourshop.pk.
- Enter the keyword you want to check.
- Choose the country.
- Click Check Ranking.
What your position means
- Positions one to three receive most of the clicks. Protect them by keeping content fresh.
- Positions four to ten are on page one but need work to climb. Small improvements can make a big difference here.
- Positions eleven to twenty are on page two. You are close. Improving content and internal links often pushes these onto page one.
- Not ranked means you are outside the top results. Check that the page is indexed with the Indexability Checker and that it really targets the keyword.
Study the sites above you
The list of sites ranking above you is a ready made research list. Run the top one through the Competitor Website Analyzer to compare factors side by side, and use the Competitor Keyword Finder to see which phrases they cover that you do not.
Track rankings over time
Rankings move. Pick ten keywords that matter most to your business and check them on the same day each week or month. Write the positions in a simple spreadsheet. Over a few months you will see which changes helped and which did not. Avoid checking every hour. Daily swings of one or two places are normal and not worth worrying about.
A real example
A dental clinic in DHA Lahore believed it ranked well for dentist in DHA Lahore. The ranking checker showed position fourteen, with the clinic's contact page ranking instead of its services page. We improved the services page title, added patient focused content, linked to it from the homepage and added LocalBusiness schema. After two months the services page ranked sixth and the clinic received more calls from Google.
Tips to improve rankings
- Match the search intent shown by the top results.
- Improve titles and descriptions with the SERP Preview Tool.
- Add internal links to important pages from related posts.
- Fix technical issues found by the Website SEO Audit.
- Earn genuine mentions from local directories and partners.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Tracking vanity keywords that bring no customers.
- Panicking over small drops. Look at the trend over weeks, not days.
- Checking only your brand name. You probably rank first for it already. Check the service and product keywords people use.
Ranking for local searches
For businesses that serve one city, such as a clinic, a salon or a repair shop, normal rankings are only half the story. Google also shows a map pack with three local businesses for many searches. Make sure your Google Business Profile is complete, with the right category, hours, photos and real customer reviews. Use the same name, address and phone number on your website and in every directory. When your website ranks well and your profile is strong, you can appear in both places and take a much bigger share of local clicks.
